Plek improves the playability of Guitars.
The name plek- an abbreviation of the greek word “plectrum”- was chosen because the “Plectrum” symbolizes a connection between musician and his/her instrument.
What happens to the instrument when it is plek’d?
When an instrument comes to us the first thing we do is scan it. This means
we measure the fretboard surface and action under sting tension. This way we
can compare before and after processing.
The measurement graph lets us see how high each fret and string is in any
position. To determine how much improvement can be made depends on how much
the fretboard, frets and string action differ from the desired action of the
player.
Based on the measurements and the desired playability the trussrod is
adjusted, frets and nut slots cut and bridge adjusted to the chosen string
action.
Before actually processing the strings are removed and the neck is scanned
again.
In closing the frets are polished and intonation is set.

Sensorfinger: With the plek scan the machine makes a "digital fingerprint" of the fretboard

No matter if nickel silver or stainless steel: The plek cuttermodule can dress frets to an accuracy of 1/100 mm

In the virtual fret dress graph the operator sets the amount of fret removal desired.
